Chelsea rejects £30million bids on John Terry

CHELSEA last night turned down a shock Manchester City bid for skipper John Terry.

Blues revealed they rejected out of hand an offer of around £30million.

Stamford Bridge chief executive Peter Kenyon met City counterpart Garry Cook to discuss striker Daniel Sturridge – and was astonished to receive a bid for defender Terry, 28.

A club statement read: “Chelsea can confirm it has completely rejected an offer from Manchester City for John Terry.”

The Chelsea skipper’s own concerns are over new boss Carlo Ancelotti.

Terry said: “I want to make sure I’m in the team. No matter who you are, when a boss comes in he has new ideas.”

Goalkeeper Ross Turnbull, 24, out of contract at Middlesbrough, has agreed a four-year Chelsea deal.
